Movie Marathon

I've been sick for a few days now. Stuck at home so I watched the following movies.

My Rainy Days
Japanese, love, drama

Actually I just watched the movie because I liked the title. Didn't expected much except to see Nozomi Sasaki in it XD but it was actually quite good. Its a sweet romance worked out playfully. It managed to avoid the typical romance cliches and it was like watching a 1,5 hour long fashion commercial. Seriously, well dressed attractive models posing as 17 year old teens... it had me jaw-dropping in every scene.

The story is about Rio Ozawa a 17 year old highschool girl falling in love with the 35 year old teacher Kouki Ozawa. Yes it impossible and complicated but fun to watch. Except love expect problem with friend, teen prostitution and death. You see Kouki has a brain tumor and time is ticking for hem. knowing that he doesn't have time left to live he gave up on life. This is not a spoiler as it is explained in the beginning of the movie. Rio doesn't know this ofcourse. Because of that it adds the little bit of drama that kept my eyes watery in the last 30 minutes.

Mr. Socrates
Korean, comedy, action

A comedy action movie. Its almost like Oldboy except our main hero is kidnapped to a trainingcamp. The script is well written with no lose ends. And every scene and character will eventually return and things starts to snap together. Expect some slapstick humor and overall it had me OMG and WTF.

Ku-Dong is the biggest bastard in his town and everyone knows it. One day the gets beaten up by some guys and taken to a special training school. There he gets trained to become a cop for the mafia. Eventually he becomes a detective with a goal in sight to be the best. One day the mafia wants him to get something done. The question now is, will he do it for them after finally finding meaning in his life?

The Blue Bird
Japanese, drama

Blue Bird is a movie with his own pace. For some slow and boring. The main theme in the movie is bullying. It was totally different from what I expected. The acting was superb and thanks to that it felt like it was something that really happened or could happen. The movie also deals that people should take responsibility for the actions they take and not to forget them as it is cowardly to run away from what you've done. Its a good movie but I felt that there was something lacking.

Mr. Murauchi is a stuttering, earnest substitute teacher at a school where a student tried to commit suicide. While everyone in the class has put it behind he brings it back by placing the desk of the student back into the classroom. While not everyone is pleased with his decision he hopes that he can teach his students whats right and wrong in life.

Kiss me, Kill me
Korean, comedy, love, action

What happens when a killer falls in love and can't focus on his work anymore? I found it incredibly funny as each love-scene ends in a total disaster. It probably made it even better. The characters are a total mess with there own obsessions. Its a funny movie with each scene cracking me up.

A professional killer makes his first mistake by falling in love with his target. Expected to kill a sleeping man he finds a woman instead who wants him to help her commit suicide. She starts shouting against him that he should fulfill his duties and kill her because thats what she hired him to do. He abandons the mission but for some reasons can't get her out of his mind.

Castaway On The Moon
Korean, comedy

While not actually on the moon but close. The movie entertained me pretty good. As both main characters were pretty much freaks in there own way. A businessman who has given up on life with a failed suicide attempt and a girl who locked herself in her room for three years. I never knew a bowl of blackbean noodles could motivate someone so much XD

One day Kim decides to end his own life by jumping of a bridge to drown to death. He wakes up finding himself washed on a nameless island. Having no way to get off he decides to stay as his life couldn't get any worst than this. One day a girl spots him with her camera in her apartment across the island. His daily life on the island gets her interest as she start to watch him every day. Eventually her life starts to change thanks to Kim.
